Pemetic South Ridge Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located by Jordan Pond near Bar Harbor. The trail is the most gradual climb up to Pemetic Mountain that goes through a pike forest up to the rocky ridge of the mountain. Pemetic South Ridge Trail connects to Bubbles & Jordan Pond path, Pemetic Northwest Trail, and Pemetic North Ridge Trail. The Pemetic South Ridge Trail is rated a moderate difficulty.

Parking at Jordan Pond Path Parking Area then hike down Bubbles & Jordan Pond path until you reach the trailhead of Pemetic South Ridge Trail.

Pemetic North Ridge Trail

Pemetic North Ridge Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located by Jordan Pond near Bar Harbor. The trail starts in a large pine forest and climbs up to the peak of Pemetic Mountain that gives you a great 360-degree view of the park. Pemetic North Ridge Trail connects to Pemetic Northwest Trail, Pemetic South Ridge Trail, and Bubbles/ Wildwoods. The Pemetic North Ridge Trail is rated an advanced difficulty.

Pemetic North West Trail

Pemetic Northwest Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located by Jordan Pond near Bar Harbor. The trail is a steep rocky wooded climb up to Pemetic Mountain. Once at the top the peak of Pemetic Mountain gives a great view of the park and Jordan Pond. The Pemetic Northwest Trail connects to the Bubble Divide Trail and Pemetic North Ridge Trail. The Pemetic Northwest Trail is rated an advanced difficulty.

Penobscot Mountain Trail

Penobscot Mountain Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located near Northeast Harbor. The trail starts out at the bottom of Penobscot Mountain. When approaching the summit, the trail gets rocky, and you get a great view of the sea and the park. The Penobscot Mountain Trail connects to Spring Trail, Penobscot East Trail, Deer Brook Trail, and Sargent South Ridge Trail. Penobscot Mountain Trail is rated an advanced difficulty.

Parking is at Jordan Pond house Parking Area then walk down Spring Trail until it reaches Penobscot Mountain Trail.

Precipice Trail

Precipice Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located at Champlain Mountain near Bar Harbor. Precipice Trail features rugged no technical climbing with iron rungs with an open cliff face. The Precipice Trail connects to Orange & Black Path, Champlain North Ridge Trail, Beachcroft Path, Champlain South Ridge Trail, and Murphy Lane. This trail is not recommended for small children or people with a fear of heights. Precipice Trail is rated advanced.

This trail is closed yearly from March-August for peregrine falcon nesting season. For this reason, the team cannot provide a TrailView at this time. Please consult alternate resources if you intend to hike the Precipice.

Sargent East Cliffs Trail is a lightly trafficked trail that is located by Jordan Pond near Bar Harbor. The trail is short and rugged, going through a mostly forested area to the peak of Sargent Mountain. The Sargent East Cliffs Trail connects to Deer Brook Trail, Prescott Mountain loop, Sargent South Ridge Trail, and Sargent Northwest Trail.

Parking is at Bubbles Divide Trailhead off of Park Loop Road then walk down Bubbles Divide and Deer Brook Trail until you get to Sargent East Cliffs Trail.

Sargent Northwest Trail

Sargent Northwest Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located by Jordan Pond near Bar Harbor. The trail is one of the three routes to the peak of Sargent Mountain. The trail starts out in the woods and ascends past the tree line to the peak of Sargent Mountain. Sargent Northwest Trail connects to the Giant Slide Trail, Upper Mountain Trail, Sargent South Ridge Trail, and Sargent East Cliffs Trail. The Sargent Northwest Trail is rated as an advanced difficulty.

Parking is at Giant Slide Trail Parking Area then hike down the Giant Slide Trail until you reach Sargent Northwest Trail.

Sargent South Ridge Trail

Sargent South Ridge Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located near Northwest Harbor. The trail is a nice route that goes along Sargent Mountain’s southern rocky spine up to the peak of Sargent Mountain. The Sargent South Ridge Trail connects to Asticou & Jordan Pond Path, Amphitheatre Trail, Birch Spring Trail, Hadlock Brook Trail, Penobscot Mountain Trail, Sargent Northwest Trail, and Sargent East Cliff Trail. The Sargent South Ridge Trail is rated as moderate difficulty.

Parking is at the Brown Mountain Parking area. Then, walk down Brown Mountain Connector to Amphitheatre West and then on to Sargent South Ridge Trail.

Satterlee Trail

Satterlee trail connects schooner head road to Sand Beach. It is a heavily trafficked trail and is dog-friendly. This trail is for all skill levels and offers a different way to get to Sand Beach without having to park in the busy parking area.
