Ledge Trail

Ledge Trail is located on the Western side of Mount Desert Island and connects to Saint Sauveur Mountain Trail. This trail is dog friendly though it does have steep portions with rocks. This trail is moderately trafficked.

Parking is at Ledge Trailhead parking off of route 102.

Man O’ War Brook Fire Road

Man O' War Truck Road is a heavily trafficked trail that connects to Acadia Mountain trail. This is a dog friendly trail and is good for hikers of any ability it is a relatively flat trail.

St. Sauveur Trail

St Sauveur Trail is a moderately trafficked trail that is located near Southwest Harbor. The trail takes hikers through a dense pine forest that goes up to St Sauveur Peak. The St Sauveur Trail connects to Man O’ War Fire Road, Acadia Mountain Trail, and Valley Peak Trail. The St Sauveur Trail is rated a moderate difficulty.

Parking is at Acadia Mountain Parking Area off of Main Street.

Valley Peak Trail

Valley Peak Trail is a moderately trafficked out and back trail that is located near Northwest Harbor. The trail is a nice hike with open granite faces and has a steep climb that goes up to St. Sauveur Mountain. Valley Peak Trail connects to Saint Sauveur Mountain Trail, Saint Sauveur Mountain Connector, Valley Cove Trail, and Acadia Mountain Trail. The Valley Peak Trail is rated an advanced difficulty.

Parking is at Flying Monkey Mountain Trail South Parking Area off of Fernald Park Road then walk down Valley Cove Trail.

Valley Cove Trail

Valley Cove Trail is a heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Mount Desert. It connects to Valley Cove Road, Flying Mountain Trail, Acadia Mountain Trail, and Man O'War Brook Fire Road. This trail is usually closed during the summer due to Peregrine Falcons nesting in the area.

Parking is located at the Acadia Mountain parking area, on Route 102 near Echo Lake.

This trail is closed yearly from March-August for peregrine falcon nesting season. For this reason, the team cannot provide a TrailView at this time. Please consult alternate resources if you intend to hike the Valley Cove Trail.

Valley Cove Road is an easy out and back trail near Flying Mountain. It connects to Valley Peak Trail, Acadia Mountain Trail, Man O'War Brook Fire Road, and Flying Mountain Trail.

Parking is available on Fernald Point Road.

Flying Mountain Trail

Flying Mountain Trail is a dog-friendly trail located in southwest harbor. It is a 1.5-mile trail one way and has great trees around it. This trail connects to Valley Cove road which can make a loop back to the trailhead parking area.

Parking is at the Flying Mountain Trailhead at Fernald Point Road.

Acadia Mountain Trail

Acadia Mountain Trail is a heavily trafficked trail located on the western side of Mount Desert Island. It connects to Man O War Brook Fire Road as well as Ledge Trail. This steep and rocky climb is rated as hard. The trail is dog friendly and is an out and back hike.

On route 102 at Acadia Mountain pull off parking.
